COMPLETE DENTURES / PARTIAL DENTURES

A denture is a removable appliance that replaces missing teeth and surrounding tissues. There are two types of dentures: complete and partial dentures.

Complete Dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing. They can either be made after teeth have been removed and healing of the gum tissues have occurred or in advance to be delivered the same day the teeth are removed. As a result, the wearer does not have to be without teeth during the healing period.

Partial Dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. Not only does a partial denture fill in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from changing position. These dentures can also be used during the healing phase before receiving a fixed bridge or implant crowns.
